| Gospel:
"I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done
for you, you should also do. (John 13:15)
St.
Vincent: "It is our task to cooperate in the spreading of
the Gospel with the power of God who redeemed us and gave
us our holy vocation."
Our
Constitutions: "The Congregation...gives priority to those
works which, according to the circumstances of time and place, tend
in the most direct way to reawaken people's awareness of their
baptismal vocation and their apostolic responsibility. (#4)

As members of the Catholic
Apostolate, we are ever mindful of the catholic or universal
call to holiness, service, and unity so recently proclaimed
by the Second Vatican Council.
The founding of the Union of
the Catholic Apostolate in 1835 was a response to St. Vincent's
realization of the truth of that teaching. It is the reason
for the very existence of the Union.
In whatever environment a
Pallottine Sister may find herself, she must always be mindful
of her responsibility to help others to embrace this truth.
For us, it is not an option, but a responsibility if we
are to be faithful to the charism with which we have been
entrusted.
And sometimes it can be as
easy as repeating the words of St. Vincent:
"Can you pray for the spiritual
welfare of your neighbor? Pray for them. Can you give good
example? Do so. Can you encourage others to do good? Then
encourage them. That is the work of an apostle.
