The
Statues of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate note
that “In communion with Mary, Queen of Apostles,
the members of the Union commit themselves to prepare
the way of Christ in human hearts. They unite with her
in prayer, like the apostles in
the Cenacle, to ask for the strength of the Holy
Spirit (cf. Acts 1:13 -14) who continually enables them
to receive and pass on that love which renews all things
(cf. Ps 104:30).” The notion of Cenacle is important
to our spirituality and our apostolic activity. We are
called upon to be “cenacles open to the signs
of the times, seeking to discern the apostolic priorities
for our local area.”
While
members join the Union as individuals, they are encouraged
to work together and to support each other in groups.
St. Vincent notes that experience shows what we can
do alone is generally not what we could accomplish united
in a common cause. In many places, as here in the United
States, these groups are called Cenacles which meet
regularly, pray together, deepen their understanding
of St. Vincent and his foundation together and, plan
their apostolic activity together. |
