The Star
One of St. Vincent’s great concerns was the unity of God's
people. He felt moved to work that God's kingdom would come and
there would be one fold and one Shepherd, our Lord Jesus Christ.
His devotion to the Feast of the Epiphany which celebrates God's
coming not for the Jews alone but for all humanity led him to celebrate
the Octave of the Epiphany with liturgical celebrations featuring
all the various expressions of Catholic worship as expressed by
various rites within the Church, for example the Byzantine rite
and the Coptic rite. Though he loved Rome, he recognized that the
Church was more than the Roman expression of it.
